Jill and Maxwell - A Perfect Combination
Jill Scott gave her all on Friday, engaging the crowd with samples from each of the Words and Sounds Volumes as well as a preview of some new music. Her rendition of Gimme, with the go go flavor, was a definite crowd pleaser. As usual, she allowed us to serenade her with Long Walk. She rounded things out with Crown Royal on Ice, a heartfelt rendition of Lyzel in E-flat, and the soul-stirring Hate on Me. Jill Scott is an amazing performer! I can't wait for her next tour!
Portola Music Festival rose to the occasion after the tough act to follow that was Jill Scott. His energy was high, making it very difficult to stay in the seats! The slow and sexy set was definitely the highlight of the evening. I am as impressed with his moves as I am with his voice. I can still hear him singing Pretty Wings.
